Church of Santa Marta was formerly known as Church of St. Viviana Suarta in the name of the old quarter where once stood and in memory of the ancient church which was at the time located in today via Bibbiana. In 1334 the church was built on the will of the Dominican writer Domenico Cavalca along the adjoining convent of Dominican nuns who remained there until 1789. The church has undergone profound changes in the mid eighteenth century, especially regarding the shape and orientation. The interior, with a nave and Baroque style, is considered one of the richest and most pleasant among the Pisan churches. main altar is placed a large painted crucifix, due to Pisana 1200 School.
