Involved in hostilities between Pisa and Florence, saw his castle dismantled, and today no trace remains. Among the villas are reminiscent of Villa Belvedere, in a panoramic position with garden and limonaia, Valdisonzi Villa Corsini, Villa Il Poggio, and the museum Charles Villa-Pepin, the famous art critic, opened to the public for visits to the rich collection of 'contemporary art.
In the area of good wine is also produced by the presence of companies adopting innovative policies guarantee a quality production, as happens in Cenaia, the location of the Pisan Hills Wine Cellar.
The mild climate and the natural environment characterized by the presence of numerous rivers and lakes have allowed Crespina become a center of floral and nursery class, so that each year in September, is held in the Exhibition Cenaia Wine and Nursery.
Another old tradition is the breeding of owls, once used for hunting larks. Always the owl is a true symbol of peasant folklore: it is dedicated to an important fair which is held on September 29, a monument in the country and a breeding center that the City will be transformed into a park for outdoor the recovery of protected species.
